We are absolute snobs when it comes to camping. If we pull 50 feet in and it’s not clean, we’ll turn around. Country Acres is one of the nicest campgrounds we’ve ever been to. We usually come for two weeks in July and October. We’re always here for Thanksgiving and the Fourth of July, when we have a good-sized cookout. We’re always here opening weekend and usually four or five days in August and September. It just feels like our second home.

Family Camping Traditions Begin at Country Acres

Country Acres Campground is part of the Smucker family’s Bird-in-Hand family of properties, with roots in Lancaster County going back generations. Spread across 18 acres of rolling countryside, our campground offers 100 sites, from primitive tent sites and full-hookup big-rig sites to cozy log cabins, and is open mid-March through mid-December for stays of up to 14 days.

With a beach-style outdoor pool, courts and playing fields, a camp store and evening campfires, there’s room for the whole family to play. Add in signature Bird-in-Hand touches like free breakfasts, Smucker family ice cream socials and the sight of Amish buggies passing by scenic farmland, and it’s easy to see why campers come back year after year.

You’ll be just off Route 30 and about 1.5 hours from Philadelphia, minutes from the Bird-in-Hand Artisan Village, our Family Restaurant & Smorgasbord and Bakery & Café, and a short drive from Dutch Wonderland, Sight & Sound Theatres, Kitchen Kettle Village, the Strasburg Rail Road and the outlets.

Whether you’re here for a weekend or two full weeks, Country Acres is where unforgettable family camping trips begin.
